This may indicate a problem. Is there a Prybar.org?
on: April 22, 2009, 03:45:21 AM
We've been doing a little *koff, koff* renovation here in the house.  My wife has been doing most of the work, with me doing some of the demolition and grunt labor in the evenings and weekends.  A week or so ago, I needed a prybar to remove some old studs so I ask if she has one.  She produces a couple (as in 2) different prybars.  I pick the one that seemed right and went about my business.

Over the last few days, I've seen a prybar here, one there (in the garage, the basement, on the stairs) and think nothing of it.  I went out to pick up a hammer and see another prybarish type hammer;  then I realized there may be a problem:

Need I mention,  She is not even a member of this esteemed board?  Here I am, honestly plying my hobby; contributing to the community (Do I have to point out the Wenger Business Tool review?  >:( ) and I find this.  This!

This hoarding of prybars.  By my LIFE PARTNER?  The mother of my children?

And what kind of support do I get?

"Oooh! I like the blue one!"

"Oh, she needs the big Fubar too"

I feel so dirty.   :-\

Wait, wasn't it your wife also who was holding out on you when it came to multitools??? You found her hoarding a whole bunch of those in some drawer right?

Hmm... is there a pattern forming? Not to be disrespectful, but how do we know Mrs Whippy, as you describe, really exists?  ???

Yes...

I've already come to terms with her collection of tape measures/yard sticks.  :(

If you'r looking for a little discretion in your prybars http://www.countycomm.com/
"Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall;
Some run from breaks of ice, and answer none:
And some condemned for a fault alone." -William Shakespeare, King Lear (1608), Act IV, scene 6, line 169

I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

Lee Valley Tools has them for about $15.  They call it a Box Tool and the write up says something about how they use them in their warehouse for opening and sealing crates.  They also say this the perfect tool for someone who leaves their tools outside in the rain, as this one couldn't get much uglier!

It's made in China and is very rough- no refinement on this one at all, but it's also bulletproof.  I think it would outperform Ontario's SPAX as a rescue tool in the car.

And, at about 1/10th of the price and the rough workmanship, you won't be afraid to use this one, and HARD!  :D

Postage might be a bit of a killer, so if you want one, try some industrial supply places in your neck of the woods.  If you can't find one let me know and I'll see what I can do.

There is only a problem when you find hair and blood samples on them and all your ex girl friends and even the lady you talk to at the bank is missing.

UNTIL that happens I wouldn't be worried.

Like I said when you discovered your wifes MTs I wish my wife would collect that type of stuff instead it is clothing that can only be worn during certain times of the year and even after she has a FULL closet she still has nothing to wear.

I finally broke down and spent the $19.99 and got the (smallest) FUBAR.  I wish the prying end was a little thinner to wedge between tightly spaced planks/wood...maybe I'll grind it down someday.

Better hope she doesn't see any of the Atwood pry-tools. http://www.atwoodknives.com/home/21821419.php
(more like pry-jewelery, though,  would you actually use an Atwood to pry anything now they've gotten so pricy?)

I have 2 and happily use them both.  I don't see them as pretty or fun to play with so can't see why anyone wouldn't.
I'm back!!
