very nice pic's I wish I could take 'em like that.  that reminds me to get going here pretty quick and build a lite box.  I think that would help me a bit.
As for the Surge it's one beautiful tool thats for sure but one that if it were the only tool in the world would see me without.  Too heavy for edc for me.  But a "nice plunk it in the glovebox" and pretty capable tool if needed.

 Very nice Medic :o They need to do a 4 inch tool with the same setup as well :D Cause that is what the whole lineup needs an AWL :D and if setup like the Surge the Wave would have just about everything in a smaller package ;) Another great tool you have that I need to put on the list

Surge is to Wave as Andre the Giant is to MiniMe.
........................as a 747 is to a gnat.
........................as an 18 Wheeler is to a BMW mini.

I'm exaggerating a bit, but not much.

Hmm, I disagree. The Surge is just a big Wave that rattles, no?

It seems to me I’m the only one after receiving the Surge (and well knowing it is big) does get surprised by it being so small  ::). The only thing I can compare it to is a Juice cs4, and the Juice does surely not deserve to be called a mini, when compared to the Surge.

You're definitely not the only one Indrek! A few people have commented to me that it's not as big as they expected.

As multitools go, it's pretty damned big, but certainly not the biggest. In fact, it's a 4.5" tool, as Leatherman originally called "Extra Large Tools", and is the same size as the Swisstool etc.

It's pretty tough though.
I used to come here a lot.

I have 2 surges and I do feel that they are entirely too large for daily carry when a smaller tool will fulfill the same needs.  I simply see no compelling reason to carry a Surge.

I keep one in my car for emergencies which is actually redundant because I also carry a fully stocked toolbox there as well.  The other Surge I have I am simply waiting out the "I can get one for $40 at Walmart thing" since I paid $80 for it, then I will trade it for something with a better usefulness to weight ratio.

That having been said it's still very well built, has "coolness" appeal to it and I suspect everyone should own one at least for a while to see if it suits their needs.

:)

But am I at least the only one who thinks the Surges leather sheath is quite ok? ??? :D

weight-wise, it's a giant among multitools...

it outweighs tools larger than it...Wenger Swissgrip, gerber radius, Victorinox Autotool (thickness), Paladin PT540,etc...
