Sometimes change is a good thing, other times not so much!

I'm a little late to this one, but I wear a Casio Mudman.  At first it seemed huge to me, but I have gotten so used it that I hardly notice anymore...unless it's saving my wrist.  This thing is a tank.  A patient at work slammed a bathroom door while my arm was in the way, it closed on the watch instead.  It still hurt, but it didn't do any damage really.  And the watch just got scuffed a little.  These are awesome watches.  It's been slammed in a door, dropped, banged into a wall (countless times), been in the river, mud, and all kinds of stuff and just keeps on going.  I've had it for 2 years now...before that my watches didn't last 4 months.  Great watch.

I have a very pretty Omega Seamaster Professional automatic watch.   It's the one in the photo below.  I would like it very much EXCEPT that every couple of years it needs a new cleaning or else it won't run anymore.  Cleaning these babies is $300 or more!  I WISH that I had bought the quartz version instead of the autowinder.  If I could trade for a working quartz version in the same condition (excellent) and same size and appearance, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Since I gave up on the Seamaster, I've been drawn to inexpensive Timex watches that keep excellent time (quartz based) and that are rugged enough and nice enough to suit my needs.  For me, they have to:
  • Be inexpensive
  • Look good with everyday business attire
  • Have a timer bezel
  • Not be too large (I have small hands and wrists)
  • Have the Indiglo night light feature, which I really like
  • Glow-in-the-dark hands are a plus but not critical since I have the Indiglo feature
  • Be at least WR50 (water resistant) (I prefer WR100 or better but you can't always get what you want)

This is the model that I'm wearing these days:
Timex Men's Classic Watch Stainless Steel Bracelet Blue Face Watch#T28812
http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Classic-Stainless-Bracelet-T28812/dp/B0000TIIMS/ref=cm_rna_own_review_prod

I have one of these also and I like it but my wife tells me it doesn't look as nice on me for work (and I trust her judgment):
Timex Men's Expedition Analog Watch #T45891
http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Expedition-Analog-Watch-T45891/dp/B000SZNTB4/ref=sr_1_69?ie=UTF8&s=watches&qid=1247891218&sr=1-69

I like the look of this one too, I may have to try one:
Timex Men's Expedition Silver-Tone Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch #T46601
http://www.amazon.com/Timex-Expedition-Silver-Tone-Stainless-T46601/dp/B00020J14E/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=watches&qid=1247891337&sr=1-6

Timex has stores in outlet malls now, called "Time Factory" stores.  You can find AMAZING prices on Timex watches in those places!

Old thread with a lot of old members.

I love to bump these.

A week ago I purchased a new "Walmart Special"

20 Dollars later and it's a Armitron "All Sport"

All digital is definetly my new favorite, and the compass bezel rotates which makes it a great fidget.
