That is really great!  :tu:

By looking at my micra... what did you change? I have the keyring where the spork is, but you have the keyring on the other side now. Did you remove any tools (the tweezers are in the place where the spork sits...), or did you just change the order of the tools?

Okay, where would you recommend about getting a spork made to fit the blade replacement of a Surge?

I know it won't fit into the tool in the closed position, just looking to get an attachment made. Don't have a shop, would just have hand basic tools, no grinder. Could be interesting.

Mr510, any plans on modifying more Micra with the spork mod and selling those? Am interested.  :D

Making something for the t-shank adapter is pretty easy since it is a pretty straight forward "connector"; just get a spork with a handle that's wide enough. This should work nicely: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.23423

I added your photo of your MicraSpork, with credits as being your idea, on the LeathermanUSA FB page.

If you don't want it there I will remove it. We been trying to get Leatherman into adapting a spork a while back:

Thanks Pacu and Therodfather.....

Thank you. Actually other way around. I left the keyring and tweezers. The spork is on the other handle. A notch had to be cut into the side of the handle. The knife is what I replaced since I always have a multi with a decent knife on it. At one time I had keys in it. For spare keys it worked beautifully but not for everyday use it just wasn't practical for me... folding, unfolding, etc. I opted to go back to tools inside.....

Andreas is right. The easiest straight forward route would be to make one for the T-shank holder. Next feasible option, requiring a bit more work, would be the clip end where you'd install a clip or lanyard hole. I've made can openers for my Wave and Surge that install here. I use a can opener 1% of the time. I can't justify having an onboard can opener that sees next to no use when I could better utilize that space for something I will actually use, however, I don't want to ever be without one either so that was my solution. There are endless options. As for modding them and selling them. While not out of the realm of possibility, I have way too many other current projects as well as many in waiting before I could consider such.....

For that particular mod, I don't mind you posting. It is not high on my list of things to patent. While I may have been the first to do a spork micra mod that snaps into both positions, I surely wasn't the first to do an actual spork mod. They merely did it in a straight forward way that required less engineering.....

As for some of my other complex mods (i.e. my one hand opening super scissors for the Wave) would legally require permission as I have started the groundwork for the patenting process.....

I've never visited their facebook page until today. Perhaps my ways of thinking and philosophy of multitools is too unconventional (or it could be that I am just too damn picky and a perfectionist) as I can honestly say that I have never once had a Leatherman that I have been totally pleased with right out of the box and always end up modding them anyway. I personally feel that they don't think outside of the box nearly enough. But then again, that is just Evil's opinion.....  ;)

Mr510, since it was your idea to add the locking mechanism, I pulled the photo from the Leatherman USA page as like you said, it was your idea - thus your intellectual rights even if not patented.

 Still refer folks over here to look at your idea to  over.

:surrender: I apologize for posting it, no matter how small the issue it was still your idea. :pok: However, I wished you would make a few for sale as you have the skills and ability. :mn: Maybe auction a few off here. Then you'll have a reason to make a  :police:™ and start stamping your tools and watermarking your photos.   :D

Wished had the tools and such to copy and modify on your prototype, alas God didn't give me those talents.   :b2t:

Hey there Xelkos. I didn't see your follow-up post of this thread until just now. It's all good, no worries  ;)  This all started off as a weekend hobby that I have been considering devoting more attention to with each passing mod. I watermark all of my artwork, I suppose it only seems fitting I should watermark my mods as well. Guess I haven't really taken any of this modding stuff seriously until recent times. A new watermark (adding that to my long ass list of other things to-do lol)
