Thanks Nate :tu:  I'm glad I followed my initial urge to get it.  I like the blade too, it's an interesting shape compared to the typical ones I have.  I think that blade and the one on the MP400 are great as utility type blades with that shape.

This morning it started to rain while I was on the train station platform.  I went to grab my umbrella from the side of my bag, and the edge of the fabric was caught in the zipper.  Used my Strata to pull it free. :tu:

I've been using the Flik's plain edge blade for opening boxes and letters.  It's very sharp, and a great letter opener with its shape.  The pliers are fun too :D

Used my Old version Surge to cut 1x1's for some bracing.  I love having the ability to change out tools on the Surge.  Pretty clean cuts and pretty darn straight too.

Love the Flik, and its outside opening tools. Have you used the scissors yet?

Actually I haven't had to use them yet.  I've deployed/used them just to fiddle with them, but no actual real use.  I also normally have SAK scissors on me as well, so those typically would get used first.  I'll have to try to remember to use the Flik's just to test them out.  The Flik is definitely one of the more fun MTs I've got :tu:

It's been a while since this thread had been used and since I've been on here regularly.

I installed an IKEA Dioder led lighting strip system behind my monitor. It did involve blood but only because I was squeezing the little bracket too tightly. I used my Spirit X Phillips at first but it was too large for those little screws. I had to revert to a jewellers screwdriver instead. I installed one of these sets a few years ago on our family room tv but the led was just white light. This one has a variable dial switch that I can adjust manually to 10 or 12 different colors, another switch to change the color automatically every few seconds with direct transitions and another that changes every few seconds on fade transitions.

I've been posting a little in the Cigar thread and the eating/ drinking threads. It seems that with my Grand Canyon vacation and marrying my daughter off I can't recover and get back into posting lately. I'm trying though

Had to make a new post. Did not want to combine that one with my baby girl.

What you guys were talking about wrapped around her finger. Yeah.

And her partner in crime.

Her sidekick is a great deal larger now though.

That will be happening in April. Our son and his wife will be having our first grandchild then.

So I finally scored a cork board today so set to work right away building the Wall of Cuteness. Kind of like the Tool of Flickeyness but more better.

First I put the Wave to work cutting 550 cord. In the continuing quest to give serrated blades a chance I used that one. For the first time ever from the looks of it.

Then on to pushing the cord through some holes so I could hang the board on the wall. Maybe I have been talking and thinking about putting a Rebar plier head and awl on my Wave for to long because I was all like "Finally I get to use my awl!".

Which would have been perfect for this job except as some of you may know the Wave does not come with an awl. Pliers worked but tore up the board more then I liked.

Then in order to give the pliers a chance to redeem themselves I used them to pull some old staples out of the board. Overkill, yes but it worked fine.

Of course what good MTO post would be complete without the money shot. The Wall of Cuteness complete.

For gods sake - please stop toying around with that small Wave and it´s shortcomings in trying to be a fullsize tool. It´s a nice "big" tool for some jobs a officeguy might have to do on his wifes orders, but ....  ;)

Go and get you a Surge - you´re a man, you can handle that little extra weight.  :tu:

I can´t really imagine it, but it must be hard to do that job having a family at home. When i was on duty i was a single, so i didn´t had to worry what may happen and how it would be for the loved at home.

Thanks. Took me a while to find a cork board that was unsecured. I mean if they wanted to keep it they should have posted a guard or at least left a note saying so.

Bah being a former Fallschirmjäger you should know better then anyone the pay is not all it could be doing this work. The Surge is still on my short list once the holidays are over most likely.

Yeah sure miss them but it makes it all the more sweet when I get home. This will be my last deployment though so there is some good news. Time for this old man to retire.  :tu:

At least your prices are much better than ours - here the requested price for a Surge is usually between 115 and 150 €, for a nacked one.

Take care to keep your head out of trouble and come home safe.  :salute:
Have fun.

$150 Euros?! That is like almost $200 USD right?

Maybe when I retire I will take up smuggling. Seem like it could be lucrative.

Not full 200, but with the average exchange atm. it´s between 180 and 190 USD (checked it with 187 a few minutes ago).
Have fun.

Michael

Relocated a cranking battery, repaired a blown coolant hose, cut some polyprop line, secured a floor panel in engine room, opened food cans, got the ash pan out of the stove, adjusted a magnetic catch on wet locker door .... And the day is not over yet.
