I just suddenly remembered where I saw it because I passed by it again.  It was actually at House of Knives in one of our malls.  Notoriously overpriced cutlery it was $64 CDN

I remember Jzmtl in another post I think talking about this one!  Good to hear Gadget guy enjoying his as well.  Funny thing I just saw this knife the other day in Walmart?  Anyhow next time in I might take a closer look.

Jzmtl where did you get yours?  Thanks.

sean

Sorry didn't see this till now, I bought mine at Lebaron for $40. It's even cheaper if you order from new grahams.

I was just checking one out today at LeBaron's and it felt really good.  They were asking $39.95 cdn. but when I asked about the handle material the sales guy said it was imitation wood, that wasn't what I had in mind so I passed.  I picked up the large Select model instead.  420HC steel with zytel handle, the finish on the blade isn't as nice as the S30V or Sandvik versions but good enough for edc.

Well sort of, it's dymondwood, which is thin layers of beech wood compacted and epoxyed together.

I just might go back and get one then, thanks Jzmtl for explaining.

No problem, I spent quite some time googling to find out what the heck is dymondwood, might as well use the knowledge.  :P

Sean, I suspect they may be going out of business soon.  The one by me has been discounting prices regularly for a number of months now and once the particular knives on sale are soldout they are removed from the website.  They are overpriced but wait for the  sale prices and there are some nice deals to be had.

My 1st "quality" knife was a Buck so I've got a soft spot for them. Great knives. I have a 110 that does my "dirty" work.

Thread bump :ahhh

I've got one of these on the way, looks like a really good value.  Has anyone carried theirs much?  I've got the basic model coming.

I have and its holding up nicely. I still can't believe the price tag.  :o  I only wish Ben would have got the one I sent him. :(

I've been carrying my Select model daily since I got it and have to say its a pretty good knife. Super sharp, holds an edge well and very quick openning with the flipper.  I love the deep pocket clip, in fact thought about taking the Benchmade Vex today and when I slipped it into my pocket it felt weird with so much of the handle protruding from the pocket, went back to the Buck.  I saw they offer a smaller version of the Select as well with a 2-1/4" blade.  Might take a close look at that.

Heh that's funny, I actually didn't quite like the deep clip and stopped carrying mine. I'm used to have a bit of handle sticking out for easy extraction.
