My first mod
on:

...or restomod?
I had this old Elinox Handwerkermesser/Handyman for some years now. I bought it cheap from Ebay. I knew, that the technicians screwdriver was special. But the Blade was fubared, and the scissors was missing some parts. This were older scissors with the smaller screw. I had no donor knive with this type of scissors. So this knive sat in the drawer and waited for it´s big day.
Some months ago I found on Ebay.com a big vintage Vic with some interesting tools. When it arrived, it turned out to be an old LNF-Champion.
I tried to edc it, but too many tools were damaged for my taste, so this was the big day for my Elinox.
Here you see the donors (the Swiss Champ wasn´t needed, I´ll take it for a later mod):

The first steps. The good old economy Traveller with it´s dull blade, is just right to remove the scales.
Drill out the pins.

I had to decide, witch tools I will reuse. First I wanted to build a Grand Prix with technician screwdriver. But the old pins from the Champion would allow another layer. So I added a saw. So I made a Master Craftsman with technician screwdriver instead of the small blade or a Deluxe Automobile without the LNF.

Nice vintage tools. And finally peened. It feel like a stock SAK. No wobbling tools, with the typical sound while closing the tools.

Finished. Front scale is from the Elinox, back Scale from the Huntsman. Glue wasn´t needed.

I´m really happy with the result. It´s not perfect, but good for edc. I like the tool selection (I like the Master Craftsman anyway). I didn´t need new parts. I only used the parts from the donors.
I tried to keep it period correct (60´s), even if it never existet.
Future plans are a Craftsman with both, pliers
and
fishscaler, and some gadgets like a half squared Phillips, and maybe a Super Tinker with LNF.
