Newest addition to my tool choices is a ST300.  Could not walk away from the bargain I found it tagged with and it was just howling for me to give it a home.

You can't just post about a bargain without sharing.  How obscenely cheap did you find it and where?  Congrats on the find by the way.  You will surely enjoy having the ST 300 in your rotation.

What he said... You must give us some more details..  :pok:
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Me too poncho, I have been looking for a long time for a used Cap crimper model.    :(

That is bad Steve :( Here's to the best possible outcome

Good news !  I'm sending the knife back and the guy who got my ST is returning it to the seller as well. The seller reimbursed me $10 to make up for the screw up. So looks like it will get here eventually.   :tu:

That's really good news glad to hear it worked out for ya  :2tu:

When it finally got here it was in rougher shape than the pics implied. The medium flat driver  was broken completely off, as well as a big chip in the small driver.  the plier head  had a lot of play in it and the BO coating was all smurfed up. The seller offered to refund my money and let me keep the it, so I decided to send it to Leatherman to get fixed or replaced . Now I'm awaiting it's return from them.

I just hope that they still have a CC model to replace it with.

Some people don't give an accurate description because they don't know any better or they are a second hand seller who never bothered to look at the tool themselves.  Others are outright trying to defraud.  By this seller's response I'd say he didn't necessarily intend to defraud, he just didn't give a complete description of the tool.  I'd say split the difference with the seller and ask him to refund maybe 10 or 15 dollars to cover your cost of shipping to Leatherman and let him keep the rest.  You're going to get a new tool out of the deal anyway.

My bad, missed your request.
This was found at a blue big box home store for under 4 ten spots.

I do not remember which forums frown deals references.

PS: this was located in IN, have been in MI past week and checked several locations and no more found.

Again, my apologies for the delay reply.

Howdy, first post on the forum, as I'm more of a knife guy than MT guy. My Fuse and SAK Officer, Fuse boxed up for repair and Officer AWOL, served me just dandy for about 4 years each. I bought a Rev on sale last Christmas as a tideover for the Fuse, and yesterday was going to buy Case knives on clearance when I ran into 1/2 off price on the ST300 at the orange box's competition. I'm in MI, but there was only one ST300 available, and it was in the key cutting area  whereas the rest were with utikity knives in the tool area. Anyways, I like it quite a bit, and what I thought were excessive blades have been handy.

Quick question, as Im new, where would I find a thread dedicated to working in MTs? I know they will with time but I want this one to be a well oiled machine ASAP.

Lube it and spend a evening watching tv while constantly open/close it.
At the end of the movie you will butterfly open it!

Welcome to the forum, and yes, there is no substitute for manually opening and closing the tools for a couple of hours to get them smoothed in.  If they are so tight that they are difficult to open they may have been over tightened at the factory.  If that is the case you can loosen them up with pliers or a tool made for the purpose.

I can now join the club   :)

I just received my CC ST300 back from LM warranty. They replaced both handles and tools but repaired the CC plier head by tightening the pivot and replacing the cutters. I'm sure they would have given me a whole new tool but I put a note in with the tool saying that I hoped they still had CC plier heads if they couldn't repair it. The BO coating is a bit worn on the plier head but no big deal. The sheath I got off of E-bay,  It's for the ST200 but fits the ST300 like a glove.  :tu:

I ordered and received a box style sheath for my ST300.  It fits well and rides much better on my belt than the fabric/Velcro version in the package.

I too am a fan of the box style sheath :salute: That may be one of the reason I like to carry old school LM so much

Only Leatherman I bought once, and liked it so much I bought another before a week had passed

Feels strong, and I really dig that I can take the tools out with the gloves on

Got my 300 with me at work today  This is German limestone from northern Bavaria (or so I have been told :D ) It is Jura stone, some of our German members can confirm this for me probably :tu: Nonetheless it is a nice background for my LM :dd:

Picked this up on eBay for a steal!!  I want to replace the pliers with BO pliers from regular ST300, I have no use for the CC pliers.  Will keep the CC pliers in case I ever decide to sell, or become an explosive expert. LOL
