Well in the 30 mins or so I've had it, I like it a lot.  I have another coming in from Gadget Guy that will probably go to my father in law, since he says you can never have too many clamps, and now he can carry one with him (he currently carries a New Wave that I got for him after he lost is last one from a plane crash....he hit an elk....long story)

That's a nice haul Zack, I always liked the look of the Rookie (more so than the Police, sorry Ben).

I agree about the Rookie, it seems to be the perfect size for me.

Oh yeah, those gosh darn flying elks.

Always getting in the way, crashing planes... and stuff.

Or do I assume this was on the runway? =P

I'm not a Spyderco expert and up until this haul never really liked them, but when I saw pics of the Starmate I knew I had to have it, and I have always liked the lines of the Rookie, but never could afford it.  But no I have no clue on the year, but its made in Seki City and has an ATS-55 blade.

You did good, that 440V steel is a great steel, very hard, but get a good edge on it,and it will stay awhile, and you can never go wrong with a crunch, and the little one is a good Sunday-go-to-meeting knife.
 & :salute:
