They seem well respected here too . As far as Folders readily available in North Am. , Bike Fridays and Dahon are well thought of . Wahts the Skinny on Montaghue ( they make a 26" folder ) ?

It's a design that's been around a long time, and is considered OK rather than exceptional.

The fold is pretty big though, so will take up a fair bit for room compared to a 20'' Dahon

I never read this thread before so I'm going to skew back to topic

I'm a derailer guy myself, as I have never ridden a Hub Gear bike.  I've repaired and built bikes my whole life and they have all been derailers.  Switching to a whole new system would leave me with little room to custom build without breaking the bank.
