Leatherman Style
« on: January 22, 2010, 07:36:35 am »
Some pics of the Style:

As you can see, it'll be available in 4 colors- blue, black pink and red, although the actual tints of these colors may not be 100% right- there was some mention of the shades on the prototypes above being slightly off what was planned.

The Style is a great little tool, similar to the Victorinox Classic in function, although it does give up the toothpick.  I didn't take a picture of it (I forgot  :-X) but it also has Squirt style tweezers.

you know, if anyone else made something like this, everyone here would think it is just another knockoff SAK...

Oh absolutely no doubt they are going after the small SAK market, my worry for them is that I don't think they will be priced like a SAK.  If I'm wrong then I'll be very happy. :)

What are the scissors like Boss?  I'm assuming that these are the same scissors that'll be seen on the one I'm really after, the PS4.

Scissors are all the same on the Style, PS4, and ES4. They seem to function fine on paper, with clean cuts and a good return spring.

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

What are the scales made of?  They look like rough plastic.  I would like to see one made from the same plain stainless steel material as the Micra is made of.  It looks like a nice minimalist keychain tool though.  I will be buying on in black when they come out.

Here are the dimensions.  I got them from a Leatherman catalog yesterday.  Actually a clerk at a tool store I went to showed me a catalog and they had all four of the new keychain tools listed, colors and dimensions.

Style:  Closed Length:  2.34", Blade Length:  1.6", Weight:  .81oz

Needs a foldout trident hook.  Then you could use it as a minnow lure too...
