The only thing that I have broken on a MT is the philips on my Paratool about 7 years ago trying to unscrew a though and rusty screw and the can opener on a PST to a guy that I was serving with in the military.

I broke a bit holder on a Skeletool , and two SOG Paratools . The Skeletool bit driver cracked under moderate torque while turning a screw . The two Paratools wer broken while crimping "B" connectors ( a Telco wire splice ) . I almost forgot , back about 1987 , I broke a jaw of an old skool Gerber - tightening a nut on a door closer .

In normal use I think the worst I've done is twist a few SAK combi-tools.  They all hammered back OK though :)
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I had a Stanley SL40 (piece of crap mini-copy of the SOG SwitchPlier) disintegrate in my hand while I was trying to grip some air... ::) :P

I should have broken the large screwdriver on a Power Pliers by using one of the handles at a right angle to give me leverage on a stainless screw.  It held up, and finished the job, I respect SOG stuff a lot more now!

Not knocking Leatherman but this isn't uncommon is it? I had a PST with a chipped driver blade too. On the other hand my ST has a bendy flat driver  :)

ps. Edit. Posted this reply in the wrong bl##dy place. It's meant to be in reply to AHB's weird thread over on the LM section  :D  ::)

I busted up a Supertool 200 pretty good in my younger days.  I was trying to be a good samaritan if that makes any difference.  It's ok though, it prompted me to pick up my much loved original Wave.  Back then I didn't even know Leathermans had a warranty.  Silly me, it's been sitting in a drawer for 5 or 6 years.

I have never broken anything on a tool from Leatherman, Vic or Gerber. Years ago, I had a Leatherman PST clone. The first screw I tried to unscrew bent the whole flat screwdriver. Never touched a cheapo tool after that.

It fits here well enough MB!

Medic's snapped driver is indeed weird. You see loads of multitools with twists (in my experience it seems to be all brands) but actually snap under light use points to a poor heat treatment or something I guess.

In general, it seems to be twists in drivers and breaks in files :)

maybe they were trying to fix the "bendy drivers" problem by making them harder?
