I got a very generous freebie in a trade today - a SOG Trident. For all intents and purposes it's brand new.

I have to confess that my first reaction was a bit "urrgghh", but during the course of the day it's really grown on me, to the point that some 12 hours later I'm liking it a hell of a lot!

I just wondered what everyone else thought about the Trident, as it's a knife that doesn't seem to pop up too often around here, and I wondered if people hated them or something Smiley

Friend at a store across town carries one everyday to work. He seems to get on with it well. I do like the looks of the knife.

The blade shape is lovely, but the Zytel scales are growing on me too Smiley

i could see where a knife like that would grow on ya.

a good paracord lanyard would complete the mix.

Actually - just spotted a slight difference. "Trident" is written underneath the SOG on the blade rather than all on one line.

I may make it a lanyard later - good idea Thumbs up!

I have a Flash II and it's a good knife, but I am not overly impressed with the AO on it.

The pocket clip is superb.  Thumbs up!

Yeah - I think this one's very new.

I've been messing with it all day. The tip is very sharp (ouch).

I quite like the AO.

After having the Nitrous system of Benchmade and the Speedsafe by Kershaw I find it to be a bit pants.  I may have a duff one but I doubt it as many have reported the same as I, but it's the only AO system I have used that I actually think makes for a slower knife.

Oh. I thought it was reasonably quick tbh.

Here you go for comparison:

I'll do a vid showing the Benchmade and the Kershaw in comparison so you see what I mean.

I like the ergo's as well.  Thumbs up!  I'd use and carry my Flash so much more if it didn't have the play I keep ranting about.  rant!
