They look similar to rivet nippers.

Apparently for music wire originally.  My plan if for chopping brass though.

Gosh those are beautiful. And replaceable cutters too.
Fan of the Leatherman mini-bit driver, dedicated slotted drivers, and the Victorinox backspring philips. But not combo blades.

I've no idea as where I'd be able to get replacement cutters though so I best be careful with them :)

As you can see from Bob's picture, the purchase was inspired ;)

Starrett made this tool at one time, Tool number T3993, adjustable jaw-cut-nipper.  I have been able to find little information on the tool.

Starrett still has this tool available:http://www.starrett.com/download/334_cat31b_403r.pdf

Thanks for the link. I wonder if the replacement jaws for Starrett would work with this?  Though they'd probably cost more than I paid for the tool :)

Knowing the quality and cost of Starrett Tools, I'd say the replacement cutters may be pricey, yes.

Yes, they're good quality tools. Sadly I don't own many :(

I'm hoping the existing cutters will be fine, they only have to deal with brass.

Do they have a good edge on them then? I was worried they would be all notched up. :-\
