Despite Victorinox's attempt to call everything a "Golfer", I've never felt the Golfer knives they did make were quite up to the name. The early ones (Compacts) are great, but there's nothing special about them that makes them golf specific. Then they came out with the ones in the 90s with the divot tool, which was a nice change. But - that golfer was a two layer knife with a divot tool, blade, and scissors. No can/bottle bottle opener of any type! I don't know about you, but a tool to open a cold beer after 18 holes is just as important (if not more) than a tool to fix divots.
So I got divot tool golfer to mod, and started thinking - what would be the perfect golf knife? Start with these layers:
- Large blade/divot tool
- Can opener/caplifter layer
- Plus scales
What else would you put in it and why? Corkscrew or Phillips on the back? Scissors? Metal file? Mag glass/Phillips? Wood saw? Right now I'm thinking metal file and corkscrew, but would like to hear other suggestions.
