Yeah, the way something looks is also very important to me! :D And, of course, looks is a rather subjective matter, so it's understandable I find the regular Spydies uglyish, the captain loves them, I like the Pingo, you dislike it and so on :D But if I like something visually... it's hard to get me to unlike it, lol.

I'm not even sure what I like about the Pingo. When I first saw it, though, I thought it was the ugliest knife ever :D But then I thought it was rather original, so I'm still in two minds :D

As for the orange, I also  love it, but think that the black is far less conspicuous when it comes to not attracting attention.

Spydercos are about how they feel in the hand and not so much the looks.
Go bling,  get a Stainless Steel Delia.

Or Byrd Meadowlark.

Pingo felt weird in the hand to me.

Pingo arrived today.  It's very orange. :)

Feels great - very light but with stiff handles, good snap open and closed with a firm clip and it's comfy to hold.  Blade is short but a nice shape and cuts really well.

Nice Pingo. I really like (all) Spydercos, but the Italian made ones are really nice as well.

While the Pingo is quite the ugly duckling, the Roadie is uglier!      :D

@hiraethus  |It's sooo nice. Our dealer doesn't have any of the versions, though, neither orange, nor  black. So if I order it, it'll be from eBay.

David, haha, yeah, it is one of the uglier ones :D :D :D

To me Spydercos range from stunningly gorgeous, to sleek and cool to OMHFGKIWF  :ahhh ... I don't think I've ever seen a Spydie who just looks "meh". My purely subjective view:

Gorgeous:

Sleek and cool:

I don't find it ugly per-se... it just seems a bit... floppy... like it could use some male enhancement medication

To me it does :D I just want something more different. Visually. And the Dragonfly seems to be smaller than the Ambitious which will border inconvenience, kinda.

Ok, so can we just focus on the Pingo which I'm kinda determined to buy for some reason, I just need people who can say more about it...

Unless I start thinking otherwise soon. lol

Well shoot why didn't you say you liked it for the looks. That being the case there is no reason not to get one. Never heard anyone say anything bad about them or have issues other then what you are aware of. (Hard to OHO)

Not much, just that it looked like a typical Spyderco, with a curvy blade and a hole and black handle

Was it a big black handle, a medium orange one or a small yellow one?
Did it look like the hole was heavily used?
Which way did the blade curve? Was it upwards like a yatagan or downwards like a kukri?

Harley, you got your serration fix in a stylish way. Let us know how a spyderedge Millie works in the real world. I'm using my Pacific Salt a bit but still prefer a PE for camping type tasks.

Only used it a little bit so far but it cuts cardboard like crazy. Used it to open a pack of water and of course it cut the clear stuff used to hold all the bottles together with no issues. Cut a good chunk out of one of the bottles also on accident and without knowing.
