My Micra Spork Mod
« on: March 01, 2010, 08:24:41 AM »
I know that the spoon/fork/spork mod on a Micra has been done before, however, I didn't want to merely just drill a hole and put it under the head of one of the screws so it could just spin around any which way. I wanted to make it so it snaps in place in both the open and closed position. Tired of carrying a stash of plastic sporks I've pocketed from fast food restaurants lol.

Pre-cutting spork. Needed to start off with a larger spoon so that I would have the extra material needed.

Spork cut, shaped, bent, polished and installed. Notched side of Micra. Snaps into the closed position.

Snapped into open position. Tested tonight on some kung-pao chicken. Worked wonderfully.

I think a close up of Spork's clip end is needed  :pok: :pok:. That looks very cool mate  :salute: :salute:.

How secure is the spork when clipped in for use   , no chance of cutlery malfunction occurring mid meal  :D :D :D

When I take it apart again for the next mod I will take other view of the spork. The end is basically a duplicate of all the other implements with the exception that I made the outside diameter slightly larger to create more pressure by the spring. I put thought into cutlery malfunction mid meal. Imagine the pressure needed to close the micra knife or file, this is almost double that I'd say. Tested again today tearing away at a steak lol.....

Controlling the size of this hump affects the pressure of the spring.....

Controlling this flat spot affects how much of a "snap into place" you feel.....
