I was daring and bought the folding keyboard for mine.

I managed to do all my marking using a spreadsheet app on it even if my eyes did go cross and I made myself half blind in the process that year.  :D

The PDA was a passing fad wasn't it.

I sort of miss them on very rare days.  :D

Not really- Blackberries, Smartphones of every type and iPods etc all have their roots in PDA's.  The only reason I use a Smartphone was because I didn't want to carry around a PDA and phone.  Several articles on SOSAKOnline were actually written on various PDA's over the years, first on Palm Pilots, then into Windows Mobile machines, via a small foldaway keyboard.  I used to have bookshelves overflowing with books, but I managed to save myself from that habit by switching to ebooks.  I now have more to read than I ever did before, and they all fit on a CD.

Like any other successful technology, PDA's haven't died, they've just transitioned.  Yes, there are still some dedicated PDA's out there still, but they have all gotten better and more integrated phone software nowadays and have become much more powerful communication devices than ever before.

The server is in Germany, the designer is in Spain, the programmer is in Argentina, the mods are from the UK and USA, and the whole bloody place is owned by some Canadian guy.  Oh yeah, and the members are from everywhere on the planet!

That's old news now..... the server is now in Holland.

I have to keep moving it, never settling in one place so the ninjas don't get it!   :ahhh
