How resiliant is the coating? will it rub off to reveal the yellow beneath?

My first time doing this type of mod, from what I heard it's very tough and wear resistant as the frn absorbs the dye. If need be I can always repeat the process.

Looks nice.    8)   I`ve got one of the orange ladybugs but havent used it (sorry Ben) yet. I may have to try this out on one of the yeller H1 LB`s. How long do you let it soak in the dye?

The instructions said to let it soak for about 10 min, a shorter soak should yield similar result, but you can always drop it in again for a deeper color.

The recipe was - 1 box Golder Yellow Rit dye (powder), 1/4 of Red Rit dye (liquid, I used Scarlet Red, he didn't specify). Boil water, dump dye into container and stir, drop your knife in and let it soak. After about 10 min remover the knife and rinse under cold water and you're done

Looks good, actually it looks GREAT.

So is there anymore recipes for changing to different colors?

I have a couple yellows that I would like to dye.

A dark forest green would be good. ;)

Aaron dyeing yellow frn green might be tricky, green and yellow should yield lime green and you can go from there. Most of dyed Spidies were white initially (sprint runs) and white is the easiest color to work with. I think a dye color combination used for fabric should work with frn as well.

Admit it though, you must have been a little nervous before dropping it in that dye. :pok: :D

Nah not really, the yellow H1 LB is not a rare spydie, I can always get another one. If this was one of my white frn sprint runs I'd think twice and be a bit nervous :D

An easier way would have been to just trade me your yellow one for my orange one! :P

Looks good though!
