That explains what they needed the money for last week when they joined with the investment firm last year.

Well it's confirmed- I just got off the horn with Chris@SOG who says that it all started 2-3 weeks ago, and finalized today.  Steve Padden, President and Designer at Tool Logic will stay on and design for a little while at least, and at the moment, there are no plans to change the lineups of either company.  They will continue to operate them as a separate company, at least for the time being, but SOG is happy to have added a whole range of tools to their offerings with no duplication.  So, for now anyway, Tool Logic will stay Tool Logic, and just be distributed through SOG's usual channels, which should help out Tool Logic greatly.

That is what I managed to get from him- plus he and his wife are buying a new van, but that really doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot to any of us I'm sure! :P

More than I have in my pockets at the moment I'm sure!  :D

I doubt they would tell someone like me the dollar amount.  I may find out from another source, but they won't tell me straight out.

Generally, I don't like the idea of tool companies merging, as the competition has brought us more and more innovative ideas to look at in recent years, and fewer companies might eventually affect that.

That said, this might give the oft-neglected Tool Logic a bit of a boost onto the main stage and might make us all take a bit more notice of them. I hope so anyway.
I used to come here a lot.

Funny stuff aside, perhaps we will see a beefed-up version of that ToolLogic plier tool in the future (with SOG drivers, compound leverage, and a nice large supersteel blade). That wouldn't be bad in imo... :tu:

I think he's upset over something you said....  :pok:

Just kidding- he's pretty busy managing all of SOG's marketing efforts, and as awesome as we are, he has other priorities!

All joking aside, I'm hoping this is good news as well. The folks at SOG seem to be extremely driven to broaden their product line (remember, over 42 new item numbers at the Shot Show in January) and this is no doubt a continuation of that policy. Hopefully the combination of SOG and ToolLogic will be greater than the sum of the individual companies. :salute:

Does this mean more FRN on SOG MT's like the new Micro ToolClip, instead of their traditional stainless steel look?
