3D televisions
« on: March 26, 2010, 05:48:17 PM »
So here lately at work i've been traveling around installing and setting up the new 3D televisions. From what i've seen they are worth the cash. I was watching Monsters vs Aliens on the demo loop and it's amazing. We are supposed to start selling more and more 3d movies. Avatar comes out on Blu-ray 3d in September i think. ESPN is gonna jump in with sports in 3d.

I imagine porn will cause 3d tv to become a mainstay just like it boosted VHS sales back in the 80s. Yes a customer already asked if we carried 3d porn ::) :-\

Imagine sitting on that guys couch :dwts:

ActionLink, Premium, or another company, Pacu?  My father works for both and I was hired by Premium for a job setting up those very same endcaps - of course, we were missing a sign, the DVD, and the glasses, so I wasn't able to ooh and ahh the endcap. :(  That day my Explorer Plus and Spirit X came into play quite a bit - still annoyed that I lacked the necessary allen wrenches. ~_~

The whole 3D thing strikes me as a cash grab by Hollywood and the A/V industry.

especially when you see things like this: http://hdguru.com/best-buy-offers-bogus-3d-sync-service/1415/

BestBuy Project Team--one week and i'm already doing replacement orders for the 3d glasses because  they keep getting manhandled. I used my wave quite a bit putting the stands together. :D

All a case of whatever for me as I have no 3D vision.  Still, it should mean in a few years I can get some real closeout bargains on old 2D kit :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I recall if you watch 3D long enough it screws up your brain's balance/depth perception, at least temporarily.

I went to the local Futureshop and saw the 3D TV display for the first time a few days ago.

I will say, the effect is great. However, after watching it for only 5 minutes, I started to get a headache. Count me out on this one...

I saw that Avatar movie in the cinema and besides the movie itself, the 3d effect was pretty cool. I would like that in my house. But not always, I don't want to put on some glasses  8) looking a movie or whatever and browsing the internet at the same time. That will screw up your brain more than beer I guess  :D
