Great bag-I just got to get myself one of these!
A bit of off topic, but Jack Bauer also carries some sort of Maxpedition bag in the last episode of 24:

Had a search around; apparently it's a Maxpedition Monsoon Gearslinger  :D

I had my new bag out for its first official trial today :D

We all went to the local country park where they had some Easter fun on the go. It would be fair to say I 'eased' myself into the bag carrying game today as most folk including menfolk had bags with them today. Obviously none as cool as mine  :tu: They varied from cheap backpack to canvas manbag; most had kids in tow like me.

I didn't feel as self conscious as I thought I would, in fact I really enjoyed having it with me today. We were only there for a couple of hours but it was useful to have  :tu: My camera was really easy to get to and also brought my new 400ml alu bottle too.

I definitely need to get myself some morale patches to stick on the bag; something a bit fun :D I saw some on EDCF; 'Bag Of Tricks' and 'Sometimes it's just a bag'. [I'm guessing a bit on that second one, can't quite remember  ::)]

I only had two issues with the bag today.
  • The clips to get into the main compartment and the phone holder are really stiff. I am hoping these will get smoother with time though. The big clip on the main strap is great, it's so smooth but the one to get into the compartment is a bit fiddly. I am not even sure if it's possible to upgrade the clips
  • I had my phone in the built in holder and received a call. Not sure if it was just me but it seemed to take a bit too long to get the phone out. I had to undo the clip [see above] and then try to get the phone out as it is a bit on the snug side.

Low priority complaints but thought I should mention them :D

I'll have my bag with me again tomorrow too  :tu:

I'm glad to hear you're getting along with your bag..  :D Seriously I think they're great,

Thanks Allan  :tu:

My wife was like that but has said she likes it  :D  I still think she's a bit dubious about it but I make point of pointing out all men carrying bags these days and of course highlighting the benefits :)

As I posted this recently, I've just lifted the details from my previous post:)

Missing from the picture are my iPhone headset (on one of those curvyman things), and of course my camera. Oh and an Inka pen that I just noticed as I was putting everything back  ::)

1 - Souvenir from my recent stay in hospital - lol.
2 - Charge TTi
3 - Spyderco UKPK
4 - EDC Organiser
5 - Business Cards
6 - Moleskine Notebook
7 - Leatherman Serac S3
8 - Vic Compact (for when the UKPK might be a bit much in the presence of sheeple)
9 - Fisher Bullet Pen
10 - Snot removal Kit
11 - Plasters
12 - Codeine :tu:
13 - 2 x CR123A batteries
14 - KFC wipe (cheaper than buying them)!
15 - Hand Gel
16 - Card Wallet (I carry cash in a money clip in my pocket these days)
17 - iPhone
18 - County Comm Peanut Lighter
19 - Chopsticks
20 - Iphone headphones (not pictured)
21 - Inka Pen - carried in pocket on exterior of built-in phone pouch
22 - Camera

OK - I carry a lot, but that about fills the Fatboy :)

Thanks Dave  :tu:

So far I haven't really considered including my EDC Organiser. Mine is kinda half 'proper' EDC, half admin EDC as it lives in my laptop bag most days :D

I suppose depending on the day I could reconfig it to suit my needs  :tu: I am wary that I don't to be carrying too many multi's / SAK's; if such a thing is possible  ::)

Is yours similiar to your last update Dave?

Back when I had my Fatboy, Mrs. GG35 made quite a few jokes, but she let it go.  Then I switched to a Pygmy Falcon, which she loved and I didn't.  I just got a Jumbo today from a member over at EDCF, and I must say it tops the cake.  If you feel like the Fatboy is a murse, the jumbo is not even close.  Even the Missus likes this bag.

Allan, when you are out with your wife and she doesn't feel like carrying crap, you should mention that the Fatboy/jumbo owners group would be a viable option.  My wife loves it that I carry a bag, especially when she starts to buy stuff in the mall.
