Gerber Octane
« on: May 22, 2010, 01:08:29 AM »
Don't you wish LM would make something like this?  How many people carry a knife also because it's too much of a PITA to open it up?  And think a Wave is too heavy for EDC?  I like the idea of the Octane, but it looks (never seen one in person) cheap and ill fitting.

Basically, if leatherman made this, it would be my dream EDC tool, hum, close to an S2, but full size, with a locking blade and locking tools.

You should try the Octane. You might be pleasantly surprised at the quality of it.

Isn't it called the Skeletool? Or do you mean the quick pliers?
Fan of the Leatherman mini-bit driver, dedicated slotted drivers, and the Victorinox backspring philips. But not combo blades.

It seems that the octane offers more than the freestyle.  The octane does seem affordable enough, maybe I will try it.
