Maxpedition Doppelduffel
« on: May 26, 2010, 01:25:52 AM »
I have my finger poised to order a Maxpedition Doppelduffel, which I think could serve me as both a one or two night business trip bag, in addition to being a good gear bag at the weekends too.

I've watched all the Youtube reviews which make me even keener, but does anyone have experience of the bag, good or bad?

Nah, that's for walking. The problem with using it as a business bag is carrying collared shirts etc. The Doppelduffel is more of a "tactical suitcase" :D I used the Falcon II at the weekend in fact for the camping trip and it was perfect :tu:

Hard to defend myself there :D

I don't think I'd use the shoulder straps tbh, although it must be said tha the pics on the Maxpedition site do seem to have been modelled by a midget - the thing looks huge!

This gives a better perspective:

For work, you're talking ironed shirts, change of everything though. It's apparently the same size as the regulation suitcases for cabin storage on a plane. I have a Samsonite of that size and it's about right for a two or three day trip (5 days at a push), but of course you can't use compression straps on the Samsonite!

Chuck your phone charger, shaving gear, change of shoes etc in there and that will soon fill up :)

I think its when not if at this stage :D
