The HTC batterys start off crap but do get a lot better with time - my Hero went from lasting barely 6 hours moderate use without charge to lasting a day and a half on moderate charge.  I know at least a dozen people with desires and they say the same thing - once you get through the initial appalling battery life it's much more bearable. Annoyed they decided to go for a proprietry AC format for the desire though, I like having USB cables to charge my phone with wherever i go.

I'm definitely sticking with Android for my next phone, it's got almost all the functionality of my old winmob but much better UI and speed.

I had a play with one the other day.  UI took a little getting used to, not as friendly or slick as Apple's offering but a leap above WinMob.

Don't think I'd get one though, aside from the expense I found the screen very very poor outside, looked lovely indoors though.  I've also heard of quite a few people having issues with corruption of the SD card both stock and third party  :ahhh  I remember having a similar problem with an older HTC and they never did provide a fix :(

I quite like the look of Palm's webOS, shame the hardware doesn't seem to be as good as the competition.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I can't actually afford one :)  I just got to play with one for a couple of days.  They're a new release of course, by the time my contract is up I might be able to get one bundled free or cheap.

If a phone is out in the UK then a bit of haggling will mean you can always get it free :D with the exception of the iPhone of course. I've never paid a penny for a phone aside from the contract charges, which are dropping every year as i drive an even harder bargain for my custom! My last 18 month contract was unlimited texts, unlimited internet, 600 minutes and 30 picture messages, with a free HTC Hero when it first came out, for £22 a month, simply because every time i renew i tell them i'm going to o2 to get some super, and completely fabricated, contract that they've offered me.
