I have just found another word we spell differently  :)

Thanks David
I didn’t really need it but the price was right  :D It seems to be in good condition under the paint and a little rust  :tu:

Not necessarily from a flea market, but at a thrift store I found an Old Spice shaving mug for a whopping $1.60 out the door that cleaned up very nice; it doesn't have any chips or cracks, either. :D

I think I can remember my Dad having one of these when I was little, did it come filled with soap? I might be getting confused

You do put a shaving soap puck in it; the cup has a number of ridges on the bottom to keep it from moving around too much; thus far, between my father and I, we have four variations of the Old Spice shaving mug; they came in different heights, with different handles, and prints on the exterior, amongst other differences.

Happy with the new clip on my new secateurs pouch  :tu: and the axe is a bit of an experiment to see if the short handle is still useable

I won't get too close as the chisel needs resharpening  :-[

Short handled hatchets can be very useful Tony, but don't expect it to be able to split large rounds with ease. ;)

Its something else to play with at the moment Gareth, I think I need to thin it down a bit more

Today's small haul

Three tobacco tins
A phone for a friend who found out if there's a power cut her house phone won't work and you can't charge your mobile  ;)
A couple of what I call mirror hooks but what it says on the packet are 1-1/2in  brass 'glass plates' also written  in biro '1/4' maybe one shilling  and four pence?  :o

Another box and Ax

and a torch from Lidls  ;)

Over in the new torch section  ;)

 :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
Just found the top ‘tobacco tin’ is full of asbestos

Wikipedia says

On crumbling walls it may be difficult to drill a clean hole, or the force of the expanding plug may be enough to cause cracking. In these cases, a hardening liquid or putty mixture may be used instead.
One of the first of these mixtures was produced by Rawlplug and was composed of dry white asbestos fibres, sold loose in a tin. The user wetted some into a ball (usually by spitting on them) and pushed this plug of putty into the hole. A small tamper and spike was supplied with the kit. This putty worked very well, but the Hazard of the asbestos fibres means that the product is no longer available.

Yeah mate, if that's not been properly cleaned out I'd seal it in a plastic bag and chuck it right quick. :o

I like the look of that wooden box though. :tu:

don't open it again and seal it in a bag.  Seriously mate, it's not worth taking a risk with.

Found this big chap at the car boot.  I got in contact with my inner Tony and well for £1 it became mine.  Going to have a look through the recently cut down pile of ash to see if I can get a handle for it.

Picked this beauty up for one whole pound. It still works just fine. Takes bits from 8mm down to at least 3mm.

The company's still going, which is pretty cool.

I'd been on the lookout for one of these for the purposes of SAK modding, as it's a bit too easy to eat scales with a hand-held powerdrill.

Cheers :) Up till now I've been using a standard powerdrill with HSS bits to drill out pins, but it was just way too easy to eat through scales, I think I've already ruined a red alox cadet (maybe fixable with a bit of creative peening). So I wanted a hand drill to give me more control, in the absence of a pillar drill.

Only thing is that I'm missing a small enough chuck key. The one from the powerdrill sort of half-fits but the teeth are only partially engaged. It'll do but it's not perfect.

Hopefully you'll be seeing this hand drill again in the mod forum some time soon ;)
