I guess 'made in Sheffield', with the same old gunked up, rusty, over sharpened blade but the pokey bit is OK  :)

I actually kept my eyes open today and this is what I found at the car boot sale   :)

The top 'army' knife has 1937 on one side of the blade
and on the other..
G (then what might be a little crown) R
Rodgers & sons
6Norfolk ST
Sheffield England

The marlin spike has what looks like
556607 stamped on the side

Anyone have a link or more information please?  :tu:

Army knives didn't generally have the marlin spike, that's a navy version. They haven't changed over the years, just got cheaper and nastier! Later versions didnt even have scales on them. this is one my father gave me when he left the navy in the 80's, its made by MYSON and stamped with the arrow, 1970, 975-7403.
The stain on the can opener is probably blood, its got such a strong spring you've got a 50/50 chance of ripping your thumbnail out when you try to open it!

I would have to disagree with you about the spike Dave
I have found out since that post that they were to help soldiers undoing knots in rope and various poking duties
Nice that you have your Fathers Knife Mate  :tu:

And today...

If I keep this up they will move this whole thread to the Axe Hole
A pair of Axes with 'planks' as handles
Small Axe that someone stored too close to a fire  ::)
A couple of Billhooks, one in lovely condition and one not
Oh, another old tool box and some socks  :)
