What's that thing inside the saw?

It’s some kind of jig for getting the right angle when sharpening a chisel or plane
I don’t know how to use it yet but it was cheap

Wow Tony sooo many sak's  👍

I got them all from the same nice old couple that often sell them (they call me ‘the knife man’  :D )

The shiny one is a ‘Girl Guides’ knife, brass scales
The pruning knife was made in Sheffield, has plastic scales and is roughly put together... might be a one day project

That glued up OK

The front

The Back (this is after waxing)

Added copper

I used some 400 grit sandpaper to remove the surface rust and ran a file across the edge a couple I times just to clean it up. I've given a the handle a few coats of Danish oil which brought out the grain nicely.

Ready for a few more years service.

A really good day at the flea market today, spent a little bit more on the day than I set out to but there was an abundance of quality stuff today where it's been dry in the past. I was not able to take everything home today either, I left behind some pretty quality camp knives that typically I would have rescued.

My WWII US GI helmets look like that, same suspension system. The Liner (Dirill/Parade Helmet) and the Steel Pot outer...they are stored so I can't take any pics.

Picked up a nice Stanley 130A Yankee driver to replace my faulty 130B. It was £2! Works brilliantly. The painted wooden handle was a bit rough so I sanded and waxed it.

I ordered a hex adaptor from Axminster tools so it will accept any 1/4" bits.
