Well I just got the other Charge TTi from the same seller. After looking them both over, I am prepared to say that they are both made with the same process...whatever that may be. He listed the first as being an official Leatherman prototype, and the second as a special modified not from Leatherman. Well, both Charges have the same finish, ergo, I am thinking the first is not a Leatherman official prototype...but someone's mod. I don't care as I find modified tools equally fascinating as the original. I already had a Kwakster special that another forum member sold me that I really like. Well these two will be added to the mix.

Now onto the second tool, that not only features the same finish as evinced by this inside shot of both tools from the same eBay seller…

(Note the tall tell heat signs, along with the same handle stamped dates…for what that is worth.)

…but also Damascus blades very much like the Special Edition Damascus Wave. Oddly enough, the Damascus Charge TTi came with a 25th Anniversary sheath.

Very nice collection. Considering the price of the Charge, could one enquire about how much that collection has cost you?  :pok:

Mums the word.  :D

Well I inquired about these two Charges from the seller. This is his reply...

"Thanks for your email. Both tools are factory marketing prototypes. DlC (diamond)coating process was used only on 1000 limited edition Damascus Waves. There were only 3 Charge TTI like this one ever made for testing and marketing needs. There was only one made with Damascus blades.
I hope that this answers the question. Please let me know if there is anything else of an interest.
Regards,"

I assume that the charge damascus blades are simply the wave's blades swapped in?  If they are different, then there is a little more to this tool.

Chako it took Victorinox a couple of weeks to get back to me regarding my Charles Elsener Swisstool queries , they did an initial response & a follow up latter.

No joy from my enquiry, Vic HQ appears too know nothing about the Charles Elsener Swisstool  ??? ???.

Hope LM has something to say , they look very cool were ever they came from. :D :D
