I decided to give my Wave some pocket time for the last week and a bit since I got off to a bad start with it (didn't like it and had some quality issues).

I never seem to like a new Leatherman when I first get it, then it grows on me after I've used it for a while. Same thing happened with my Wingman.

I'm loving it now. Especially now that I have the new bit kit and can use standard screwdriver bits in it with the extension.

(Image removed from quote.)

I find this is the case for most tools/knives that I own or have owned. The more use it gets, the more I grow to like it.

I have a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in Camo with black blade that went on a pretty epic camping trip with me 2 years ago. I hated that knife when I got it. Just couldn't bring myself to like the color combination. I decided to take it with me as I wouldn't feel bad beating on it or if I lost it. After that trip, it became one of my regulars and is still in my collection.

I got have that extender and those bits ! It would be great to be able to use standard bits .

I thought the kit on amazon was just the flat bits and that was what the extender would hold . I need light please in lighten me as new wave owner .that extender and kit of bits with the ability to use reg bits would add so much to my  new Wave

Thanks limodude

After a temporary affair with the Surge, I'm back in love with my Wave thanks to an organ-donor Rebar.

I'm so jealous. Very nice! What did you use to disassemble the Rebar?

Thanks Roc. I used my Crunch and Surge to unscrew the proprietary binder posts. Preheating with a torch to melt the red loctite is essential! The awl required grinding the nail nick edge to fit flush when closed in the handle, and required grinding the curved part to allow the handles to fully close.

That is some nice work. I really hope that this is what Leatherman will do with the next update to the Wave.

Sigh, I shouldn't have left this club. The Wave is such a nice tool

I've been rocking my wave lately and noticed online you can purchase a Damascus blade for your wave. Price runs about $55, not bad if it's the same blade as what's in the limited edition model and not a copy/3rd party thing. I have paid for knives costing more than that and would get one for my wave no questions asked.

Isn't the blade made by TexasToolCrafters and not LM?

Apologies, all is well. I'm back in the club.

Like all 'normal' people, the first day or so was spent opening and closing the pliers to loosen them up.

I'm just trying to decide if I will carry my bit driver extension, or if I will purchase the longer MUT bits...

I just got a BO Wave the other day so sign me up to this club!

I do have 1 question... Actually 2.
How do you guys carry your Wave?
Are the pocket clips any good?

Although I have a couple of sheaths, but I pretty much only use them for storage purposes since I don't often wear a belt. I'm looking at getting a pocket clip for mine, I hate having to fish around for it in the bottom of my pocket.

I carry my Charge TTi with the pocket clip, and it's fine.  The Wave rides a little better/lower with the clip due to its slightly thinner size.

First day of carry but liking it so far.  OH knives are great, the diamond file is just lovely and the pocket clip is very handy.  Not convinced by the scissors yet but they seem good enough.  I reckon the small bit driver will have to go though, what a waste of space.
