Not at all, never sensed anything other then an unneeded apologetic delay to replying to me.

All good.

Edit to add, I'm still wrestling with metal and clothe/fabric being used together, some days I like the thought of it, then others I don't.
Though I tend to like everyone I see on others so idk.

Hi everyone. I have a quick question for the community.

I own a Leatherman Wave (bought in 2003/2004 and looks like this one: https://www.coldmountainkit.com/shop/image/product_images/wave.jpg).

The scissor spring has broken and I'm wondering if its possible to do a home repair or if I need to send it somewhere?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My philosophy with my Waves is very similar to my philosophy with my jeans:

I have work jeans and go to town jeans. I don't wear my go to town jeans to work and I certainly don't wear my work jeans to town.

The same is true of my Waves! I have a work Wave (nice and battered) and my out and about Wave. Both ride in sheaths on my belt every day

I recommend the bit kit to go with your new wave and bit extender! It makes for a very capable Multitool! :tu:

Just picked up an OG Wave to gift to someone special.  It got me to thinking I need to throw my OGW back on the belt for a few weeks and see how it performs as a follow up to the Spirit and MP600.

My wave is my main work knife, mostly because the warranty allows me to beat on it. I don't carry a bit set for it because I always have my tool bag nearby. I use a crunch leather sheath it fits nicely.

Random thoughts:

Something that I would love to see for the new updated wave/charge series besides rebar style pliers (which are debatable) I would say put an awl where the scissors are, remove the serrated blade and put surge-like scissors in it's place (no wingman scissors please, they are horrible), and give an option for the main blade to be plain edge or combo edge. This tool set would dominate the mid-size multi category and really set the bar high for the competition. But what do i know.

Does your wave close all the way? I tried a ground down rebar pliers I my wave and it still wouldn't close completely due to the scissors.

Nice shot. At first glance I thought it was a rebar. Had to look closer to see it was a wave. Very stealthy.

Yeah it closes perfectly - Im not quite sure how as most people said I'd have to grind the plierhead. I'll take some pics later to see if you can figure it out :)

I've been carrying my Original Wave for the last few weeks at work again.  It's just reinforced my belief that it was the high point for Leatherman.  They just don't make them that well anymore.  It truly is a fantastic piece of engineering.
