Earlier today in Dover NJ, an Alco C-424 heading towards the M&M factory in Hackettstown. The M&E has two old Alcos on their roster. Even without seeing them you can tell when they're in the area, their horns are so distinctive.

A bit, yeah.

True, there's not too many Alcos still around, but the Morristown & Erie runs two C-424's in revenue service, plus an RS-1 for excursion trains. The Centuries are a very common sight around here, including right in the center of town on tracks that don't have gate crossings. Pretty cool. There's a GG1 in Boonton NJ, only a couple of towns over. I've yet to see it, it's normally sheltered while it undergoes restoration. Occasionally it's out in the open though for people to take a look. One day......
