The Wiki also says most are advert scales too.........
Can have the Keyring, but most don't...........
That's what I read too.. So mine can technically be a Standard then... Ahhh... Ahh...

These just came in the mail. Bought these as parts source for my mod projects. Still deciding on what to do...

On the left is a woodsman which the seller thought was an explorer. The middle one is a Champion and the last one is SwissChamp.

The woodsman is in pretty bad shape. Woodsaw is bent. Scissors is useless as its missing half. What's interesting is the liner between the scissor and in-line phillips. What's in place is one meant for pliers. I'm pretty sure that it's not a custom job. Must be a production error or could be intentional due to lack of parts during production. For this I'm thinking of restoring and turning it into an Outdoorsman.

As for the other two, I'll maybe do another yeoman (As I love yeomans) and maybe just slim down the swisschamp a bit and have stashed in my toolbox.

The German postal services are at times a nuisance, at times appallingly inefficient and sometimes openly hostile.

A couple of months ago, a small card in our postbox stated, that a package for me had been handed over to a neighbour called "Belchteng".
But there is no Mr. Belchteng in our house or neighbourhood. So where was my parcel?
Only ofter some intense research I found out that the postman had given the parcel to a random neighbour on the ground floor, and took the inscription on the lowest button of our doorbell, which reads "Beleuchtung" in German or "Light" in English.

One parcel from the USA couldn't be delivered to me because we live on the fourth floor of our house, and one of the postmen didn't want to go there - thus the small Lyndon B Johnson- Victorinox travelled over the Atlantic twice.

And the tickets for a Kabuki-Play in Tokyo, which we had purchased almost half a year ago, couldn't be delivered to us and were sent back to Japan because of roadworks in front of our house. The postman couldn't deliver the letter and also couldn't put a notification into our postbox, because hed' have had to walk 75 meters. So we didn't even know that the letter finally had arrived in Germany and could be fetched from the post office.

So much said you might get an impression, why I left home for Japan with mixed feelings two weeks ago, since one of the packages I was waiting for had not arrived yet.
And contained the following item, which I had found as a buy-now for about 20 €.

Guess how happy I was when I found this in the post yesterday...

Thanks gentlemen!

The black beauty is almost new and in great shape... and I freaked out when I got the notification that I had made the deal.
Feeling veeeery lucky, especailly since I had been hunting for one for ages, and always had to give in since other bidders were willing to spend much much  more.

And luckily, since the Japanese were prepared for an unfortunate fate of the tickets, we still got our seats at the Kabukiza and enjoyed two bizarre and wonderful plays.

Congrats on the great knife!    :tu:

Sounds like you had a great trip to Japan.

Thought the German government agencies were noted for their efficiency. Sounds like they're getting as bad as the US postal service.

@ ColoSwiss: Thank you!

Trouble in Germany is, that  government agencies aren't any more. Most agencies were sold/privatized/whatevered and have to run with a minimum of personnel, without any major investment into the infra-structure.

Basically every cent earned flows into the purse of some private owner or the so-called stock exchange, but when something goes wrong and there is a loss, it's still the taxpayer who has to pay.

We were utterly impressed how efficient, clean, punctual and well-planned and done everything in Japan is. They are the kings of organization, planning and service, and it is just weird that Germany is still quite prestigious and seen as some kind of model.

After two weeks in Japan, returning to Germany felt like returning into a third-world-country, inhabited by a strange bunch of Neanderthals.

I was quite impressed by the Deutsche Bahn though. The two times I travelled with them this summer they saved their neighbouring rail-companies. Both times we got into Germany the trains (Polish and Dutch) were late and we would have missed our connections if the Deutsche Bahn hadn't worked some magic. First time they rerouted an express train to pick us up and the second time they held our connection for ten minutes while at the same time reducing the 25 minute delay down to 8 making sure we got where we were going. Made everyone except the Swizz look thoroughly inefficient.

Yup, sounds familiar.

Dutch trains are always late, and never ever wait for connections, even if they only have to wait just 1 minute. Can't tell how many times it happened that my train arrived a few minutes late and I saw my connecting train pulling up from the adjacent platform just when we arrived at the station  >:(
