I am a little sad as I tried to buy a SAK alox bush crafter in "Daveys Grey" that looked to be in pristine condition but the seller had sold it already.  Must of sold in minutes because I had responded pretty quickly.

How cheap was it, may I ask?... If it was the price of a brand new limited yearly edition alox classic, it still would be cheap.

Better keep an eye on that seller...

This 74mm stainless steel Prince arrived late yesterday. Cleaned and lubed it. The springs have excellent snap now. The blades need to be polished and sharpened properly as they were scuffed from use. Did some work on the larger blade which had more scuff marks than the smaller one. The file is in very good plus condition; shows near zero usage. I've done a little light work on the scales but don't want to polish them much as it will start to remove the guilloche. It's cleaning up rather well, but needs more work. There's a gem under it all and it will earn its sweat equity; it's a work in progress that will continue as time permits.

It was a good find at a very low price. I mostly see the Cellidor Prince. Without the space needed for T&T, it's quite thin, just like the older smooth Alox. The stainless steel scales are sheet metal caps over the liners.

I ordered a 111mm cowboy with israel flag.

http://www.zahal.org/products/israel-flag-cowboy-knife

Today was delivery day. I opened the box...

... to find a climber instead ???

Not sure if I should complain about this.  It's not what I ordered but the climber is also nice. Is $ 30 (without shipping) a good deal on this climber?

But what about the compass? How can it function properly with all that steel nearby?

Are you kidding? A standard Climber will set you back E 27, so $ 30 surely isn't too much.

Yeah I'll keep this Climber, that's for sure ;)

I sent Zahal an email mentioning the fact that I received the Climber instead of the Cowboy, that I don't mean to send it back for a refund or something like that, but that i'm wondering if this means that the Cowboy is out of stock or if it's still available.

I can see that you are really, really upset about getting an extra SAK......   😜

Thanks, cali, jalind and Ronald......good price on this S54 and just couldn't resist.  It is the same thickness as the XLT but 10 layers (vs. 11 on the XLT) on the front (compass layer is thick) and only 2 layers on the back vs. 5.  Interesting toolset so having fun.  Of course it is shorter than the XLT.  Ronald.....the compass seems to work fine, the theory is that it is stuck out on that plastic "blade" far enough not to be affected by the metal.  I think it works.

Just picked up a two-blade stainless 'Dogbone' (upper left) to compliment my earlier three-blade. Also has a different pattern on the handles, diamonds instead of straight lines.
