Any experience with the CRKT Stubby Razel ?
« on: March 18, 2012, 04:36:52 PM »
I'm talking about the small ( 2 1/4" ) FB version ) . I've heard the sheath is Poo , any other observations ? I'm planning to keep it on my work belt for odd chisel/ruff cutting jobs .

I had the folder and I liked it, although it had too much handle and not enough blade.  I don't know about the fixed blade version though.

I don't want the folding version , as I wish to retain the ability to give it a whack with a maul ( the tang projects just a tad ) . Mr W. did like his folding one . The ringed version is a tad too long for comfortable work belt carry .

The stubby Razel (mine's folding) is a stout blade.   The handle is thick, but I like it for the scraping and heavyweight cutting I use it for.

On the folding version, if you flip the thumbstud for Leftie use, it requires a little more flick to lock it open

The Stubby fixed blade by CRKT is a very good knife for the money. The only weak point is the sheath. It is well made but bulky and not very nice to look at. If you can make your own sheath or have someone who can it is a no brainer. Let us know what you decide.

I'm pretty good on both leatherwork and kydex , so I plan to throw the factory sheath over the left shoulder .
