Erik Nylin Combination Tool, circa 1909. alligator wrench, pliers, knife sharpener, nail puller, cap lifter, corkscrew, etc. length 185mm

That upper jawed pliers looks like a nail nipper.  Farriers use a larger version of these to cut off clenches (bent over portion of nail) before removing horse shoes.

Bob, I saw a tool at the lumber yard yesterday which was a hammer with a hatchet head where the claw end usually is.  I asked about it and they told me it was a sheetrock hammer.  Wonder if this tool was designed for same purpose.

.......Bob, I saw a tool at the lumber yard yesterday which was a hammer with a hatchet head where the claw end usually is.  I asked about it and they told me it was a sheetrock hammer.  Wonder if this tool was designed for same purpose.   

I dunno Nate.......there are several variations of these hatchet-mammer-plier tools from 50 years ago. They don't seem large enough to do sheet rock work. And with the folding corkscrew on the one (a rare version) it just doesn't seem targeted for the construction trades.
