I am thinking that Grant and SteveC used liquid graphite spray and it adhered similar to the BO coating

Also welcome to the club :tu: :like:

It's worth a try. It seems to be holding up fairly well on my MP600 saw mod.

Very nice Peacent. The Surge is the tool I rate all other tools against. It is truly the best multi that ever was and is. It even made me lay down my CT41. And a Swiss Spirit and Swisstool could not do that. Best of luck with your Surge man.

Been carrying a Wave in the glovebox of the car for a few years now. Last spring I got a Dodge Charger (was driving a Honda Fit). Today I was thinking why I am still carrying the Wave in my glovebox when now my glovebox is about 1 1/2 times (or more) bigger than before?

Surge on the way! :)

I find the ST300 the limit weight/size I can comfortably belt carry, that's why I rarely have the Surge on me.
Same with you, Poncho?

Yes ST300 seems a bit lighter but after carrying the Surge today I found that I never really noticed it  I may have to carry it more now :D :like:

I think the Surge is best carried in a sheath or in a pack.  Pocket carry of this beast just seems bothersome.  The newer version blade exchanger is much better at retaining T shank blades vs the older style BE.

When I carry my Surge its typically on my belt in a sheath.  I just love all the options available with the blade exchanger and bit holder.  Great tool for sure.

Thanks guys, Aloha agree with you fully - it's a beast but a very capable one  :multi:

Noticed the "Center Drive" solution in the top photo? :D

Today was a special day. I managed to purchase a Surge from my local Leatherman dealer. I've just spent the last couple of hours giving it the once over. It's certainly a hefty piece of kit.

MY Surge has a really annoying clip, wiggles so much it can bend 45º from its axis  :twak:

so no pocket carry for me

Well, i started Saturday with a work-mates Surge performing a service as it needed it:

Now, i don't really get on with large and small Leathermans. I find the Micras and Squirts too small for my fat fingers and the Supertools, Cores etc too unweildy. Never had a go with a Surge until today. Wow, this is somehow a larger tool that doesn't feel too large, really comfortable in the hand. I also took the opportunity to service my Charge AL as well as one of my old Wave models. When he came to collect his Surge he had a play with the wave as he has not had the opportunity before. He loved it and i've got other Waves so now i'm in the Surge owners club!

Will this madness ever end! ;)

The Surge, great tool. I have performed numberless fixes at home or at my father in law's during the year or so I have owned it already. Great and absolutely useful tool.
I carry it on most casual occasions on a belt sheath, horizontally, with no concerns.

There it is with my LM Juice, which I use in my pocket when I can't carry the Surge.

I've only had my Surge a couple of weeks and I love it already.

It just feels STRONG... it has none of that flex and grind that I get on my Crunch or ol' MT600 in use, and unlike those it feels like I can't  break it.

The PE blade has to go, though, as does the small flat bladed screwdriver.   I'm spoilt by Spyderco steels and can only contemplate 420 on a serrated blade.  As for that little 'driver - what were they thinking when there's the bit exchanger as well?   So I now have a second Blade Exchanger and the tiny bit driver on their way from Loki, and have also found a Universal Tool Adapter ....
