The shorter spork seemed to be easier to eat kiwi fruit with, and seemed to be more oval from memory. Like this new longer handles spork well enough, but when trying to scoop out kiwi fruit meat it had a tendency not to skim over the skin - instead cuts through it.

May to get another short spork later on. This longer handle is quite neat, though harder to carry in a pocket or dangle on a keyring. The shorter spork was easier on both counts.  :D

I just went and checked and there are no differences between the head and tines of the spork. The handle on the short version is a bit wider to compensate for the lack of length but that's about it.
We're waiting on more to be produced in Japan. Believe me, you are not alone in looking for the short spork. I've got no information on colored sporks but I wouldn't be surprised. Thanks for getting in touch.

So that answers my question, the sporks are the same past the handles.  ;)

A friend send me this Mountain House plastic Spork last week. Actually like this spoon part a lot better then the Light My Fire version. Might be due to the lip edge and beefier fork part.

Still not a true spork like the Snow Peak Titanium which is still my favorite.

My problem with sporks -- I am afraid the fork tines would do something to the fabric of my backpack. However, Light My Fire has a case. So, that replaced the spoon I used to keep in my carry on. Really useful.

I work from home but fly too much. When I carry things it involves an airplane and the TSA. Makes for different considerations.

LMF sporks are awesome. I have a collection that is growing!
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Crap. Lost my light my fire Ti anoded spork. Had to use the million post one on a recent camping trip. Works great but I don't intend to use it that much as it's more of a collectible to me.

Sorry such a crappy pic,
The first is a set that all slides into the knife, I found that in my grandfathers things,
Second, a titanium set that I just had to have,
Third, one of many lmf sporks,
Fourth, my edc spork, very unique it fold in the middle for easy carry,
And last, I don't remember where I got it, but this is a 5 in 1, the fork and knife are metal and are curved in the center so the mini spoon fits in place when stored in that case which also has mini salt/pepper compartments,,

Spork, (reply #200 above)  I will compliment you on the "simultaneous discovery" of the addition of a "P-38   to your spork.          May you see mine in execution, one day!
