Hi Kwakster I was over at Mum and Dads yesterday and got Dad to pull out his old Puma to take a few pics. I forgot to ask when he got it but I would imagine it would have been some time in the early 70's. All the rub marks on the blade came form a freind of my Grandfathers teaching my Dad how to sharpen it  :'(. Even though it looks pretty rough it holds an absolutely beautiful edge and will be a much loved family heirloom.

Thanks Smitty. I rang my Dad and he told me he got the knife in 1970/1971 and it came in a green and yellow plastic box with a numbered certificate, all of that stuff is long gone now though.

The knife you have is a Puma 6398 Hunter's Friend, and the pic shows what it would look in mint condition:

If you want to read more about Puma knives, you can go to the website that this picture comes from.
Ralf, the German owner, is a friend of mine and he has one of the best (if not the best) collections of vintage Puma knives in the world.

Kwakster , I have a Puma Buddy exactly like the one you had shown , in great condition, never used , but no sheath, never had it. I got in around 1976 or so. never was able to get it sharp
