Just did some research. They do seem to be rather rare. What they are worth I have no idea. But $104 does not seem bad for a discontinued LM. Hopefully somebody will come along and help.

This weekend I got myself a brand new Ti! It was still in the box (Isn't now!) with all of the accessories. I've always been interested in the charge line but couldn't justify the cost. I saw this one for $50, so I had to jump on it. Not sure it will replace my Skeletool CX for edc use, but I'm very impressed with it.

Fiddy for a brand new LM Charge and accessories is a deal almost unheard of. Enjoy it!  :tu:

Can you answer this for me. I have just got a new Charge AL and there is no date stamp in it. Have they stopped dating them.?

Welcome to the forum and the Charge Owners Club.

I'm not sure about the Charge but recently on the Surge they moved the date code to the side wall.

Pic over here for reference.

Welcome to the forum.
On my new version (new style Ti handle scales) Charge TTi, the date stamp is as noted by my esteemed East island colleague forum member zoidberg :), that is on the side walls of the main frame.

Hi all,

This is my first multi-tool. And my first post here.

After some intense online research during the last few nights, a lot of which was spent on this site, I decided that the Charge Al was the multi-tool for me. As luck would have it, the Charge Al with "premium" leather case was on clearance at my local big-box outfitter, so I picked it up this morning. It was on my belt before I left the parking lot.

They didn't sell the accessories, so I went a block down the street to the local hiking store and picked up a stainless bit driver extender (last one in stock) and the 21-piece bit kit (both were cheaper than eBay, and I got instant gratification).

Up to this point, my EDC has been a Benchmade Barrage 580SBK, which I'll also continue to carry.

Here's mine;

It was my first multi tool and was carried and used as a proper tool everyday I was at work (building maintenance) for about 10 years it has had a lot of use and also it's fair share of abuse but still looks good and performs well, I think I'm on sheath number 3 now which is about due for replacement.

It was retired when I got my Victorinox Spirit last year, but I think I'll get a new sheath and maybe some new bits and start using it again.

Cheers

Jon

It felt odd to have a Micra, Wingman, Rebar, and Surge, but no Wave or Charge.
I saw an amazing deal on ebay, so I took it.

Charge is definitely my favorite, just the right size and comfort. My Charge collection is currently at 12 pieces. Going by the date code:
- 0614/ 0614: ALX BO
- 0214/ 0614: TTi Camo Seclusion 3D, BO (new scale)
- 1012/ 0113: TTi Camo Real Tree, bead blast, no (R) after the CHARGE letters (old scale) this one is a mistery as I am curious to know which retailer LT made this version for
- 0810/ 1010: TTi standard (old scale)
- 0807/ 1007: SLV
- 0807/ 0807: TTi standard (old scale) this one has a raised pad for engraving
- 0807/ 0807: AL stainless
- 0406/ 0506: Ti BO   (old scale)
- 0406/ 0406: XTi BO (old scale) this one has the LEATHERMAN CHARGE (R) letters unground on one scale
- 0206/ 0406: Ti standard
- 1105/ 1105: Ti standard
- 1204/ 0205: XTi standard

All were from eBay. I am not in a hunting mode for the Charge anymore, more like lookout mode for Camo variations, AL BO, ALX standard, and cheap titanium Charges. Will post a pic of my ring of Charges once I get on my PC  :salute:

As promised, my Charge Collection:
from left to right, top to bottom in date-code chronological order:

The XTi BO with unground lettering on one scale. The letters are a lot crisper and easier to read

The old-scale TTi with raised pad for engraving. Next to it is the SLV. The SLV scale is not just plain, boring gray. It is glittering to some degree, quite pretty.

Ring of Charges

My absolute favorite - The TTi Camo (may be relegated to number two, if I am ever able to get the 25th anniversary Charge  :D, which is highly unlikely). Leatherman got it right with this one, from the paint job, bead blast, to the leather of the sheath.

I think I am getting somewhere with the ID of my mysterious satin camo Charge. It started with this ebay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Limited-Edition-Leatherman-Charge-TTi-3D-Camo-Brand-New-in-Box-/291758223557 . It caught my eyes with the camo leather sheath. One of the pictures shows the product number of 830796.

A google search for "leatherman 830796" lead me to this (http://smartbuysonly.com/leatherman-830796-charge-tti-multi-tools-camo-sheath-with-camo-molle-sheath/) and this 2012 Leatherman military catalog (https://www.e-barnett.com/ProductDocument/10139/105334_Brochure.pdf , the 830796 number mentioned at the lower right corner on page 12). Weird part is the smartbuyonly has only 1 to offer.

Calling the camo pattern expert, is the camo pattern on the ebay listing Seclusion or Real Tree? The color does not have enough "green" for Real Tree, but does not seem enough "dark" for Seclusion. Maybe it's just the camera thingy... And look at the scale difference: new style on eBay and old style on the smartbuy website.

Lastly, yeah I did buy both of those  (no I did not pay $179 for the eBay one :D, 6 watchers, probably only me dumb/ nut enough to offer  more than others, if any) Those camo leather sheaths  :ahhh
