New Leatherman Tools (Hawkchucker tried scoopin' the boss)!

I'm pretty excited about this.  Do we have any idea if these are the only new tools or when they'll be available?

They havn't officially been announced yet so such details are not known at this time . We may learn more today . Lets see what they look like first

I'll go out on a limb and say the Sidekick to be a MUTesque civilian tool

It's to have a serrated utility blade, plain blade, woodsaw and scissors. If not then maybe even the KF4 resurrected in a mighty form

im excited to see whats new like all of us, but how dont we have an inside man at leatherman i mean really!  look at all the crap the leaks out ionto the news all the time on topics i really could care less about, maby we can get wikileaks in there!

If you google Leatherman Sidekick there a few direct hits. It's where people has called their multitool by the wrong name; I assume they meant Sideclip or possibly Kick

Who would have guessed they accidentally created a new multitool name 

As for Wingman  I'd like to know the thoughts behind the name 

Perhaps as homage to our own Wingman

I think that wingman is a good name for an MT, because a "wingman" is like the dude that helps you get girls at bars, kind of like a sidekick.

Found the spec; finally a use for Facebook

Thanks for taking a look here at out new products for 2011. The idea here was to eventually replace the older Kick and Fuse with two new models that not only have tons of features, but also an updated look – including the outside accessible blades/features like the Wave. The best part is we’re going to be offering these at a very wallet-friendly MSRP of $29.99 for the Wingman and $39.99 for the Sidekick. And no we didn’t go overseas to make these Keeping those jobs right here (or there cause I’m in Vegas right now) in Portland.

So you’re probably wondering what’s in these little guys…Oh and “little” is not just a fun word here. These are actually on a bit smaller fame than our normal “full-size” tools where they measure 4” closed. The Wingman and Sidekick are pocket friendly and pretty light. I’ve listed the size measurements below with the specs.

After about a year of consumer, “channel” (the retailers and what they want) research, materials and manufacturing research and testing, these two models are a very strong answer to what we found people were looking for. Many of you are seasoned multi-tool owners. The Sidekick and Wingman are definitely geared more for the first-time buyer. Someone who may not be familiar with how helpful a multi-tool can be, but isn’t sure they want to invest just yet in a Wave, or Skeletool, or maybe a Super Tool looks like a little more than they’ll need.

I know many of you will have questions about why we didn’t add this or that, or why it’s this size or configuration vs. that. That’s what I love about all you fans, you are always asking and challenging. I’ll try to get back to your questions as soon as I can, but I’ll be at the show most of the day; just got up early to post these so you were truly the first folks outside Leatherman to see these.

I'm surprised that flat bit driver isn't there. Personally I would choose that before phillips and normal screwdriver.
Edit: Oh, just noticed: "Spring-action Needlenose Pliers". Thats something new (?), beware Suspension!

It's difficult to see from the pics but I think the OHO blade on both is a combo blade 

The Sidekick has that smaller serrated blade so it doesn't make sense to me 

Looks like the 'Civilian MUT' will have to wait 'til next year then 

Hopefully these new multitools will bring in some fresh multitool blood  Every tool should come with a card printed with www.multitool.org on it
