Its absolutely beautiful.

I am unfortunate though as I cant really be a watch guy because of my trade.

I am a mechanic and unless I want to take the watch off at the beginning of each shift and throw it back on at the end, then I really cant do it.

A couple of months ago I bought a nice kinetic Seiko that I love. I bought a Seiko because of sentimental reasons. But I have been doing what I described above to keep the Kinetic watch alive. Its a PITA. I really should have bought a quartz watch.

I would be interested to hear what some of you watch guys do for a living.

I mean, I am in a trade where a multitool is as useful as I want it to be (I have a fully-stocked tool box at work).

But if I wore a watch, then there are some risks to having a metal band when working around batteries and other stuff. Not to mention the watch would get totally trashed. I already have a scratch in the crystal lens.

Back on subject though, very, very nice. Ill tell you this much, if I ever get a job driving truck or something like that then Ill for sure be looking at something like that-just to have some variety in watches.

getpower,

I work Security at a Powerplant so seldom do the watches I wear there face much rough abuse. But on days I know they might I have a few watches that are "beaters" that I'll wear instead of my more expensive pieces.

But there is no law saying you can't own some real nice timepieces and only wear them when you ain't at work.

There's no law, you're right, but there are safety issues.

Do you know what can happen if I touch a wrench to both sides of the battery terminals at the same time and that wrench happens to touch the watch band also?

The band can also get caught on many things in tight spaces possibly leaving no way to pull my hand back out.

I don't do it for safety reasons. Im all about self-preservation.

I don't make a habit out of touching a wrench to both terminals of a battery, but bad accidents can happen in the work place and as long as I'm aware of that fact, then I'll try and make it as safe as possible.

Anything can happen any time.

I sincerely apologize, it seems as if I did not read your post correctly.

That really is a great watch anyway. I really like the red face. A little flashy, yes. But very tasteful. My compliments once again!

Makaveli,

You get on WorldofWatches mailing list (email) and you'll get sales flyers for stuff like this more than just during the Superbowl halftime, trust me.......I got about 25 watches out of my collection that can account to that!  :D

Very nice watch!! You say it's made of tungsten? That must weigh a lot  :o. I have a tungsten carbide wedding ring and that's heavy..

By the way, being tungsten you shouldn't have to worry about scratches, my wedding ring is still looking pristine after 2 years of wearing it everyday (been married a lot longer than that but lost my original ring, long story...)

Hull_n_Back,

Thanks! Yeah, it's not super heavy but noticably heavier than all stainless steel watches of comparable size I own. The scratch resistance is one of the reasons I got this one, amongst others.

Christ, solid tungsten, I suppose if you need to lose weight you can just take off the watch for a few pounds, and you can smash car windows with it!

Very nice watch though!

I hope it has a sapphire crystal to go with that tungsten case!

To see how fast you are going, duh!  :P

Honestly I've never found a use for them, except maybe when I'm on the bus/train and bored, so can I see how fast it's going.

Just as jzmtl said, it's used to determine speed. I have quite a few watches that have a tachymeter scale..........have yet to ever use it.
