SAK new unit of measurement in space
on: March 28, 2011, 08:47:22 PM

The above image is from Malin Space Science Systems.  it amused me that several of their pictures used SAKs to assist in judging scale.  Various models can be found on the site.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

So the critical issue is, is it an 84 or a 91? :)

NICE!!!

Missed this the first time around.  But thanks to a link that was posted by Reinier in a thread that wandered off topic in the Swiss Forum, though I found it!

Very nice site to visit, and it just so happens that a large number of the companies cameras are set to launch into space this Saturday as on board equipment for the new Curiosity Rover.

So, what SAK is in the image above?  It looks like 4 layers and I can see blades, scissors and openers.  It's older because the keyring is on the blade layer, not the openers.  But the tools don't seem to be in the right order.  The fourth layer (looks like a file or a saw, but maybe a fish scaler) should be between the blades and scissors - but it's between the scissors and openers.  Did Victorinox change the order of the layers over time?

Actually, looking at the catalogue page below, it's probably a mid-eighties Huntsman:

Hmm, no scale tools so possibly an early (1970's?) Woodsman.  Might be a clip-point small blade too.

There's a Climber and black Spartan there too.
