Anyone care to post a pic of a side by side comparison of the original and this? I have ordered one but mine will arrive only in ~2 weeks time.

This is a pic of the damascus RT and ATS-34 RT with the mini in the middle.  Glad you asked, I didn't think about a comparison picture.

Should we expect any versions with a hex bit wrench instead of the oxygen one?

There wil be a mini Ring Tool with a 1/4" hex instead of the O2 wrench.  Should be completed by July.   I don't know how effective it will be to use untill I try it put it to use.

Just received my mini ring tool in the post - great bit of kit and still big enough to be usable. More orange for my collection! Photo below to show comparison with my full size ring tool.

I have used a tapered round diamond sharpener that was made for serrated edges.  The are a bit pricy but work pretty good.  If you want, you can send it back to me with $2.00 in the package to pay for postage and packaging and I will sharpen it for free.  I never charge to sharpen the knives I have made for customers.

The little Victorinox round sharpener (which comes with one of the leather sheaths) works great.  I suspect a rolled up piece of 600 or 1000 grit sandpaper would work well too.
