Latest Buck 110 acquisition.
« on: May 21, 2011, 08:59:45 PM »
I have been a longtime fan of Buck Knives and their venerable 110 lockback. Since a early age I have always had, in one form or another, a Buck 110. I've been meaning to add more variations of the 110 to my collection but something else always comes up and my money goes elsewhere.

But when I saw this one last week it became a instant "must have" and I ordered it on the spot. Of all the variations of the Buck 110 that have been made over the decades there is one thing about them I don't really care for, and that's the ones with brass liners/bolsters. So whenever I see them in nickle/silver my interest is heightened. And one handle material they do in certain patterns that I really like is their Cherry Dymondwood.

Finally they have a 110 in both........

It's new for 2011, Chairman Signature Series 110.......

While I can do without the signature it's currently the only way to get a Buck 110 in this combination. It's a good looking piece, the nickle/silver liners and bolsters go well with the Cherry Dymondwood scales. The blade is their typical brush finished 420HC with even grinds and a near razor sharp edge. Fit and finish is also typical Buck 110, rock solid and gap free........

This particular version also comes with a black leather belt sheath, which I was happy to see. While I don't mind their nylon sheaths, to me, 110's need leather. I also like the fact that this run of 110's has a shield, not something all that common on this pattern.......

And at a little more than $50.00 I am seriously thinking of getting another one for carry.  :2tu:

Nice 110 you have there 2xTap.  I picked one of these up a couple weeks ago. I like it also and could do with out the signature. How ever it is still a nice  110. I do like the new style leather sheath these come with.
The only things I remember are things that didn't happen......  ???

Very nice.  I definitely prefer the nickel silver to brass.

Zed,

Yeah, it's not quite a C actually, more of a ( with a centered up dot in the middle. In 1995 the year suffix was a U set on it side.
