Atwood tools are by no means meant to substitute for full sized tools.  They are meant to be handy pocket/keychain tools.  The wrenches fit as well as a Snapon wrench--which is amazing in its own right.  Pry tips are as good as any at that length.

His designs are visually pleasing, easily pocketed, and (at least the steel ones) work as advertised.  That fact that he is as much an artisan as toolmaker adds a level of charm to the tools.

As an aside, my latest version PocketToolX Piranha is also a very handy tool, although significantly larger than an Atwood.  I have no qualms in recommending them as a EDC pocket tool.

As you may have found out cerebra, the Titanium one piece tools mar and ding much more easily than steel ones.  While I occasionally pick up Ti Atwoods (and JDR's), for EDC only steel tools.

Having the cash is only half the battle. You have to be fast enough to get one when released  :ahhh

Or else pay inflated prices by someone trying to make a fast buck  ::)

not wanting to disrespect in any way and please do not misunderstand me, but whats so good about these tools? because, if they are reaaly good, I should start buying as well.

Atwoods are made by hand with great fit and finish. Many are made with exotic materials with interesting finishes and stamps. Depending on the exact model, they can also be very practical. However, like many things produced in small numbers, many people collect them.

Agreed; the fact his stuff is handmade in limited numbers makes them even more popular. Not a bad business plan  :tu:

I've never had an Atwood but do have a JDR Hammerhead. If the Atwoods are anywhere near as good Joshua's work then he must be onto something :D

We'll have to fix that!   ;)
