amature level leather-work
« on: July 09, 2011, 06:35:00 PM »
I'm almost embarrassed to put up pics of this, given some of the quality product to be found on this forum, but here's my last 15 minutes of mucking about; a little pocket slip sheath for a 58mm SAK.

OK so now I've shown you mine, let me see yours.  As you can see the bar has been set pretty low so there's no excuse not to post your pics. :D

Looks useful Gareth..  :tu:

I made fixed blades/sheaths as a hobby some years ago..

I still got blades/wood/leather if I ever get the time again.. :)

Cheers chaps. :)  I found myself with another spare 15 minutes this afternoon so rattled off a big brother to the first.

This one sized to fit a 74mm Vic.

Gareth, Nothing wrong with those mate  :tu: Nuphy's right, you should be chuffed with 'em
(EDIT: Oh, you are - good  :D :D )

I was tempted to to some simple leatherwork a while back. I priced up all the basic tools - and decided not to bother  :D

AHB - Wow! Stunning work!

If I remember till Friday I'll post some pics of a denim sheath I made with my moms sewing machine and an old pair of jeans.
I basically copied off of the Leatherman sandwitch nylon sheath.

Nice Job there Gareth but PVC Pipe, leather and glue is the way to go, no messing around with tiny needles and tiny string  :ahhh

 :D
That's a little outside my skill set
But then again, that's never stopped me in the past  :D

You could use a blow torch but a hot air stripper is a bit safer  ;)
