The good news: I found my lost Skeletool.
The bad news: it seems to have shrunk. Or was it always this tiny?

I think I'm finally going to get myself a CX this week.  I've had my regular Skeletool for almost a year.  What I REALLY want is one of the red ones from REI.

The red paint doesn't stay on top good.
I wish LM offers red DLC coating

I was planning on purchasing the CX but decided to go for a brand new 154CM replacement blade instead, selling on eBay for much less than the price of the CX multitool, that way I can replace the 420HC combo blade that comes with my regular Skeletool.

BTW, How does the skeletool hold up in the tropical environment of the Philippines??

Lately my Skeletool is seeing more attention/use than my other tools. You really can't beat the screwdriver on this thing :tu:

Hello Big Target!

No problem with my skeletool getting corroded because I clean it after every use.

Does anyone have both the skeletool and the freestyle,  and still use the freestyle. After getting my skeletool I just can't justify carrying the freestyle.

This is so true, and I even got the freestyle second! I figured "wow, I love the skeletool, it's so light and great, but I don't need screwdrivers all that often!"...The fit and finish on the freestyle was second to none (pliers head opened freely, but cutters had the sliiiightest hint of contact-perfect) but man, that screwdriver is useful, and I don't know why, but the freestyle is heavier in my pocket, likely due to reduced length. Also miss the aluminum, subbed for nylon. Yeah, I love my skellie, even if it is old style pliers head :D

As much as I reach for my screwdrivers, a freestyle would be unacceptable.

As a MT, without screw drivers is unforgivable.

This is funny, as they are my least used tool (unless I know I'll need one-rare) pretty much

I had to go to Texas for work and when I arrived I saw that I forgot my LM. However I was not disappointed as this gave me an excuse to get another one, so I had been flirting with getting the skeletool but never did, and then I realized why everything happens for a reason I love it, bye bye freestyle

Swiched out the dumb CE blade on mine for a 154CM and got it good and sharp on my EPA. Going to take it out with me for some Army training tomorrow.

I sure am earning it today, Texas heat is no joke. Why would someone choose to live here by choice?
