Cooler weather coming soon enough
« on: August 10, 2011, 09:56:11 PM »
Soon it will be changing weather. I love this time of year best. What are your plans for fall time outdoor activities?

Have trailer trim, steps, and a porch to paint. Hopefully the mosquitoes will be fed for the year and will leave me alone.

I plan on doing lots of day hikes and catching up on my geocaching. Spending time star gazing and cooking over my fire pit. Ahhh I love the fall.

Saw Saturn a couple weeks ago with my own eyes. Used an Astroscan, 28mm Plossl, and a 2.5x Barlow. So wished was a way to capture moment like that to reflect upon. Is difficult to find a CDD webcam on the cheap.

Tried using my Motorola V20's camera, not the best capturing device.

I want to visit Japan ;(  I just can't afford to ATM. I've always wanted to visit as long as I can remember. I want to see the old country not the city. Just visit the city for the great food and the country too. Then maybe to Tibet. I would love to see the old monasteries there and in Japan.  ;(    ;(  wish I could  ;(

I want to go camping this year but as my wife is deathly afraid of Scorpions and Rattlers I don't see it happening.  Silly thing is, she is from Montana, where she says it's perfectly safe to camp by the way, but they have Rattlers there too along with Bears and Moose!  Talk about dangerous!  Won't bother me though, I am really excited to move up there next year and Camp first chance I get.

Bears.  Mmmm I would take some of that new bear pepper spray. That stuff is the smurf!!! Just make sure to hang your sleeping bags up in the tent after use. That way the critters don't crawl in. Also use a zippered tent.

Funnily I'm just starting to look at sleeping bags again.  The one I currently have has been OK, and I've slept out in some properly cold conditions, but there is definitely room for improvement.  I'm trying to balance the warmth, weight and (most importantly) the price. :D

You really can't beat the new US military type. It's multi configured so if you need to be warmer you add a layer. Need cooler, take one away. It's almost perfect.
