While the rest of the uk smurfs off to the meet
« on: August 19, 2011, 06:48:24 PM »
I have had to content myself with fixing up three axes. One I have owned for a while but bodged the handle. The other two I picked up for £3.50 each from a local second hand store. Time with the dremel and sharpening stones cleaned all up. Then on to making covers for them. Would not normally go brown but was out so black it is. May put another handle on the no name axe as it is heavy for the current handle.

Anyway here they are:

Thankyou gents. Trouble is they where supposed to keep me busy over the weekend. I am now having to do the real jobs around the house. Currently repairing a wall and I am no brickie.

You're supposed to test the axes on wood   ::)

Thanks again for the loan of the gear mate - I'll have a closer look at your work on those when I drop everything back off (and bring a couple of new additions to my axe family I got this weekend)

Glad you both had a good time. Alan whenever your in the area is fine. Although if you have a couple of new axes I have just liberated the best part of a tree from a neighbours garden (told you I was bored) so there is a few logs around to play with.

When we were kids we used to go 'scrumping' for apples  :)

You've been 'scrumping' for logs  :D

You did a good job of dyeing the leather mate. Now if I could only convince you that cutting out leather and putting holes in it is not that hard, you may be able to dress the rest of the bucket in something more suitable. :-)
